Big News

I know I haven’t been posting much for a while now. There are two reasons for that:

1. I haven’t been making much lately (I do have some Christmas crafts to share soon).

2. I’m getting ready to move!

We are in the process of buying our first home. It’s so exciting. Check out my soon-to-be house key above. It’s old-school. lol

So here’s a picture of the pretty house:

It’s a big, old brick farm-house. Built in 1937, according to the title, 1939 according to the tax database (is that strange?)

It has so many charming qualities. Check out the view from the balcony:

Okay, I must add the door to the balcony is in the main bathroom, which is kind of odd…but more on that another day.

This is my new kitchen. It’s absolutely huge! Sure it’s dated and has a crazy blue ceiling (Someone liked blue ceilings, there is another room with that color too) but I have so many ideas for this room. Wait till you see what I do.

This room might need the most work. I just love the bay window.

For now I’ll leave you with a taste of the “beautiful” wall paper I will have the joy of removing.

I don’t often find inspiration in advertisements. But tonight I was flipping through one of Joe’s magazines and I saw this ad and thought it would be a great card layout. So I ran up to my craft room and made this card. I still think it needs something but I’m happy with how it turned out.

I picked up these wood die cuts by K&Co. the other day. I thought they looked pretty cute.

But yet they were kind of blah for my tastes. Do I pulled out my copics to see how they’d work on wood. I think it turned out pretty cute. Now I just need to think of a project to use it on.

Let me tell you this: It really stinks to still have dial-up internet. I have sooooo many pictures I’d like to share with you all (haha I make it sound like people are actually checking out my blog). Anyway, I have lots of pictures I’d share if it didn’t take 20 minutes to upload a picture.

Since I have some time on my hands this evening, I figured I’d better do a post. In case you were wondering if I had died or something.

No.

The first card I made is for the 2 Sketches 4 You challenge #50. I was sitting there staring at this birdhouse paper by Jilliebean Soup. Then I had an ah-ha moment and turned the sketch upside down to make this cute little birdhouse. Do you like it?

I follow Dawn McVey’s blog and I just LOVE every single card she makes. Lately I’ve been inspired by her “ruffle” cards. Here’s one I made:

Oh yeah, and I bought some Ippity stamps lately. Guess what? I TOTALLY love them! They are so cute. I really love the set I used on this card; it’s called Regal Greetings.

It’s a little hard to see in that picture, but I created the background with one of the stamps from the set. I’ve been playing with the crackle paint again too.

I finally got some Ippity stamps this week.

My crafty friend, Rachel, also sent me a great big package of paper just right for cards.

So you know I had to use it right away.

Aren’t those the cutest papers?

I just had to put some inside too.

But now that I look at it, I wish I would have inked the paper inside too.

Oh well.

Okay.

I do have a valentine.

But only one.

So why have I made so many Valentine’s Day cards?????

I don’t like those.

Let’s just move on to something else.

I love this card.

I’ve been saving that felt bird sticker for the perfect card.

I guess this was it.

And last but not least by any means.

I think this next card is among one of the top cards I’ve ever made.

It was inspired by a card I saw in the Target flyer this week.

If you go to Target online and look at the weekly flyer you can probably still see it (I think it’s on page 3).

I just love it!

This will be my honey’s Valentine this year.

I just love it. I love looking at it.

LOL I’m so silly.

I’ve been busy

Did you think I got buried in snow during the “Blizzard of 2010?”

I wish I would have got some pictures.

It’s the first time I remember the snow being up to my waist!

But I didn’t venture outside all that much.

I spent most of the time in my scrapbook room. Yay!

Let’s start with this set.

I have a huge pack of DCWV Rock-N-Roll themed paper that I have no idea why I purchased.

Probably on clearance.

Anyway, I made all three of these cards out of a single sheet of paper.

Added some stamps with white ink, a little bling and some white gel pen stitching and voila!

I have no idea what I’ll do with these but I did use up some paper.

Here’s another one I made.

You can’t really see it in the picture, but I used Unity’s Distressed Music background stamp on the kraft paper.

It looks so cool.

Lastly, I have a man card to share!

I hate making cards for men.

I think it’s because I like to add all kinds of frilly, girlie things to my cards.

It’s too hard to keep it clean and simple. LOL!
