A Country Card

February.18.2010

I finally got some Ippity stamps this week.

My crafty friend, Rachel, also sent me a great big package of paper just right for cards.

So you know I had to use it right away.

Aren’t those the cutest papers?

I just had to put some inside too.

But now that I look at it, I wish I would have inked the paper inside too.

Oh well.

Love is in the Air

February.12.2010

Okay.

I do have a valentine.

But only one.

So why have I made so many Valentine’s Day cards?????

I don’t like those.

Let’s just move on to something else.

I love this card.

I’ve been saving that felt bird sticker for the perfect card.

I guess this was it.

And last but not least by any means.

I think this next card is among one of the top cards I’ve ever made.

It was inspired by a card I saw in the Target flyer this week.

If you go to Target online and look at the weekly flyer you can probably still see it (I think it’s on page 3).

I just love it!

This will be my honey’s Valentine this year.

I just love it.  I love looking at it.

LOL I’m so silly.

Here’s a peek at the inside.

Don’t worry, I didn’t write anything mushy yet. 😉

I’ve been busy

February.12.2010

Did you think I got buried in snow during the “Blizzard of 2010?”

I wish I would have got some pictures.

It’s the first time I remember the snow being up to my waist!

But I didn’t venture outside all that much.

I spent most of the time in my scrapbook room.  Yay!

Let’s start with this set.

I have a huge pack of DCWV Rock-N-Roll themed paper that I have no idea why I purchased.

Probably on clearance.

Anyway, I made all three of these cards out of a single sheet of paper.

Added some stamps with white ink, a little bling and some white gel pen stitching and voila!

I have no idea what I’ll do with these but I did use up some paper.

Here’s another one I made.

You can’t really see it in the picture, but I used Unity’s Distressed Music background stamp on the kraft paper.

It looks so cool.

Lastly, I have a man card to share!

I hate making cards for men.

I think it’s because I like to add all kinds of frilly, girlie things to my cards.

It’s too hard to keep it clean and simple.  LOL!

Oh my, oh my!

February.6.2010

It snowed here last night!

So much!

I don’t even know how much.

I just know that when I was outside at 5:00 this morning the snow was drifted up to my waist.

Crazy!

Oh!  Let me show you the view from my scrapbook room.  Which is upstairs, overlooking the porch roof.

THAT is the snow on our porch roof!

Yikes!

So what was I doing in my craft room?

Oh yeah, I was making this card.

This card was inspired by a card I saw on Betsey Veldman’s blog.

As soon as I saw it, I had an idea using that Lizzie Anne banner stamp.

See all those little flowers I put in the trees?  They were the scraps from punching the border!

Krafty Wedding

February.6.2010

I bought this pack of Life Stories paper from My Mind’s Eye months ago.

I was just waiting for a special opportunity to use it.

When I heard about this challenge on the Caardvarks blog I tried to think of something that would be a little bit different.

I thought this kraft/pale blue combination would be perfect.

Something unique yet elegant.

This is what I came up with.

All paper is by My Mind’s Eye.

Around the Page punch is Topiary by Martha Stewart.

Stamp by Lizzie Anne Designs.

I <3 Papertrey

February.5.2010

Have you been following along with the Papertrey Ink birthday celebrations?

They have been giving away some awesome prizes.

So generous!

For the contest today you had to make a card using the emboss resist technique.

This is the first time I’ve tried it.

I don’t think it turned out too bad.

I really wanted a blue ink that would cover the brown that I stamped the Distressed Music stamp (by Unity Stamp Co.) with.

I used a distress ink by Tim Holtz, but it didn’t cover it to my liking.

I didn’t have time to try something else, so that just has to do.

I actually started my sewing machine up tonight.

Kind of disappointed that you can hardly see it on the card.

LAD Sketch Challenge #112

February.4.2010

So I got home from church last night all ready to watch American Idol.

But J was playing XBOX..and I was recording it anyway.

So I made a card!

I love cards with ruffles, but I’ve never tried it before.

There was probably an easier way to do it, but it worked.

Not sure I like the ribbon around the heart though.
