Do you like this?

I made it.  I do not like it.  It was much nicer in my head than it turned out to be in real life (most things are).  Those black border punched strips are too long or something.  Did you watch the Make a Card Monday video on kwernerdesign blog this week?  I tried that effect on my background too.  It didn’t turn out as cute.  I needed some green in there for the color challenge, so I spritzed it with some color wash first.  First time I’ve used that product, I liked it.  Then I used a paint dabber to make the “polka dots.”  They looked like eye balls when I first started.  I used two beautiful Unity stamps and then matted it on orange card stock.  I used some paper glaze to give the bird a glossy finish.  Want a closer look?

Thinking of You

I’m so sad that the Thinking Inking class over at Two Peas is almost over.  That class was so inspiring.  I loved that card Jennifer made with the transparent window so much that I made one of my own.

Thinking of You

Thinking of You

I had some old Fiskars embossing plates (you know, the ones you emboss by hand) that I have hardly used (I need a Cuttlebug).  I used the leaves one for this card.  The transparent strip is actually the packaging that was wrapped around a new album I bought.  I just cut it down to size.  I used Lettuce, Stream and Silver alcohol inks.  The chipboard flower is from Me & My Big Ideas.  It’s all cute and glittery.  You can’t really see that in the picture.  The “Thinking of You” stamp is from a set by Hero Arts.  The first time I stamped the sentiment I put it in the wrong place.  So I made a cute little block with a some scrap cardstock and a border punch and just adhered it over my boo-boo.  I think it looks better anyway, more interesting.  Thanks for looking and if you want to see more pictures you can check them out in my gallery on Two Peas.

Oh!  I almost forgot.  I got my prize package from Paper Crafts in the mail the other day.  Oh my!  You should see all the stuff packed in that box.  They are soooo generous.  It is amazing.  I’ll have to make a little video (or 2 or 3) to share it all with you.

A New Video Tuesday

As promised, here is the new video I told you about yesterday.

It’s Monday

Blah, why does it seem like it’s always Monday?

I have some new videos to make. I want to share with you the super cute stuff my sister bought for me. She loved the wedding album I made and now she wants a honeymoon album! Stay tuned to see some super cute summer/island/vacation themed products.

I also bought some stamps from Unity Stamp Co. and they just came in. These stamps are so great! This is my first purchase from them and I think they are a great company to deal with. The shipping was super quick and the products are wonderful, high quality stamps.

Plus, I got my prize from Two Peas in a Bucket. These are adorable die-cuts. There are four pages of them! I think they are from My Little Shoebox, but if I’m wrong I’ll update to let you know.

I’ll try to get to work on this video tonight. I’ve had a dead battery for a couple of days and I finally remembered to charge it. So check back tomorrow for a video post of my new stuff!

New stuff

I’ve been spending too much money lately.  First I want to share with you a video I made with some of the new scrapbooking stuff I bought.

Today’s my birthday!  I’m getting more scrapbook stuff and I can’t wait to play with it.  J & I are going to have a little party (if you can call it that) after he gets home from work tonight.  He took me out for lunch yesterday.  We went to Chili’s.  Oh my, I love that place.  Chicken Monterey and Texas Cheese fries:  the best!  Then we went grocery shopping and he bought me the most wonderful looking Double Chocolate Chip Cheesecake.  I can’t wait to cut into that tonight.  It looks delicious.

Want to see some things I’ve been working on lately?  I follow this blog every day.  I love the stuff she makes.  She is so awesome at coordinating colors. It’s all adorable.  So this card is kind of inspired by her work.

Thank you card
